Introduction
I am an ex‑industrial CEO/MD/CFO/COO and an ACA/FCA‑qualified leader with a track record of growing, transforming and exiting advanced manufacturing and industrial‑tech businesses in the UK and internationally. My leadership style is collaborative, calm, clear and outcomes‑focused: I combine strong financial discipline with an ability to simplify complexity, align boards and teams, and turn strategy into a practical set of actions that people can actually deliver. As a fractional executive, I bring the perspective of a former full‑time CEO and operating partner – I understand investor expectations, board dynamics and frontline realities – which allows me to create momentum quickly, challenge constructively and leave behind stronger teams, better governance and sustained performance rather than short‑term fixes.
Key Achievements
At a global plc, I played a key leadership role in inventing, commercialising and scaling lyocell/Tencel – an environmentally advanced fibre produced via a closed‑loop cellulose process – working across UK, US, European and Asian manufacturing, R&D and commercial operations. This combined major capex project work (including a new factory/CHP plant on the Humber bank), divisional finance leadership and ultimately Commercial Director and operational board responsibilities in a complex global chemicals and fibres business.
As co‑founder and C‑suite leader I helped build an IP‑rich speciality chemicals business that replaced toxic primary driers in coatings with non‑toxic, more efficient ingredients. We took the company from VC‑backed concept through global recognition in the coatings market to rapid growth and a successful exit to a listed US group.
Most recently, as shareholder, CEO and executive chair , I led an award‑winning industrial technology scale‑up in Sheffield, developing and commercialising integrated sensing solutions that combine hardware, data science, AI and software for industrial and energy, advanced materials and defence applications. I built a high‑performing board and team, raised PE equity, secured Innovate UK grants and established a class‑leading IP portfolio while expanding the business’s reach across the UK, EU and USA.

Professional: ACA, Chartered Accountant, PwC, London & Leeds (now FCA, Fellow of ICAEW)
Sustainability: Certified in Carbon Literacy by The Carbon Literacy Trust, for the purpose of sustainability in the workplace, in education and for the community
