Introduction

A senior marketing and communications professional with broad multi-channel expertise and proven transferable skills having worked successfully and energetically across the following sectors in both b-to-b and b-to-c: automotive, vehicle security, telematics, road & driver safety training, passenger rail, pharmaceutical & biotech, charity, pure business-to-business services, not for profit and membership/subscription organisations. Includes employee engagement as well as external reach. Enthusiastic, driven, good at getting things done and bringing colleagues along too – within team or out! Practical and focused on delivering – both digital and offline. Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Fellow CIM), Member of Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), Member (associate) of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT), proficient in communications. European, and some USA, experience. Works hard to simplify complex propositions into strong marketplace messaging in digital, SaaS, Apps and more traditional media. With a wide and varied experience-bank, emotional intelligence, and an ability to familiarise quickly with situations and the people involved (eg: asking the right questions quickly) I feel the appeal of delivering as a fractional executive is really strong. I enjoy variety and delivering tangible outputs.

Key Achievements

  • Switching from the world of B2B commodities marketing and business development (toilet paper!) to the higher tech world of consumer vehicle tracking - great lasting experience (and doing it well!).
  • Transitioning from the driver safety/driver training/road safety world into a four year period as Marketing & Communications Director in a clinical research (testing drugs on humans in a quarantine environment) and winning respect from the scientists and pharma-qualified folk there
  • Transforming a business identity and branding (fully integrated activity for a small AIM listed PLC) with limited internal resources (myself and a smart graphic designer!). Doing it well, on time and on budget.

Qualifications

  • BA Hons Degree in Business Studies incl Marketing 2:2 (Liverpool University)
  • Diploma in Digital Marketing, pass with distinction (Institute of Digital & Direct Marketing)
  • Fellow of the Chartered institute of Marketing (CIM)
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR)
  • Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT)
